On Saturday, November 29 at 19:00 Athens time (9:00 a.m. in Los Angeles), the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) will transform into a holiday wonderland as it welcomes the festive season in Greece. Although many of our friends on the West Coast cannot attend in person, we invite you to join us by watching the livestream and sharing in this enchanting experience from afar.
The evening begins in the SNFCC Agora on November 29, where festive lights illuminate 80 plane trees along the canal and three beautifully decorated Christmas trees in the Agora. Stavros Niarchos Park transforms into a dreamlike setting through the BioLumina Light Installations Festival, inspired by bioluminescence. Four installations by internationally acclaimed artists, along with two contributions from Greek creators, use light as their artistic medium to reshape the Park. The canal fountains will join in the celebration, dancing and glowing to Christmas rhythms, while the ice rink on the canal welcomes both experienced and first-time skaters.
