Day 10 Update: A Colorful Day of Wool Dyeing

Published: July 10, 2023
We spent the day dying wool. The abundantly blooming Sparto (Spartium junceum) plants were used to create a yellow color. The richness of the color depended on whether vinegar and salt were added. We boiled the wool for one hour with the flowers. At the same time, we were happy to explore old road systems in the region, especially a critical road connecting Geraki and Amykles. This road took us across the Evrotas River at Skoura.
