George and Tina Kolovos

In 2019 UCLA received funds from the George P. Kolovos to establish George P. Kolovos Family Centennial Term Chair in Hellenic Studies, which is intended to support the research of a distinguished scholar in Hellenic Studies, as well as the outreach efforts of the Chair holder in the Hellenic community. This Chair commemorates the memory of Panayotis and Maria Kolovos and honors the children and grandchildren of George and Tina Kolovos. George Kolovos, who completed an MA in Engineering at UCLA, worked at Hughes Aircraft for thirty-two years as an engineer and department manager, and is today a Los Angeles real estate investor and developer. He and his wife, Tina, have supported the arts in Los Angeles, particularly related to Hellenic culture, as well as archaeological and artistic endeavors in Greece.
